LIFE AFTER EIGHTY

Life after eighty is great! We don’t worry about dying, after all, statistics show there are very few of us people that die after eighty.

One of the most amazing things about this life after eighty is that I find each year how much better I used to be! Perhaps that is why our memories of earlier life gets better and better as we tack on years.

We can start each day whenever we wake up, usually earlier that I want but there isn’t an alarm clock to mess up a good dream. Those of us fortunate enough to still have our mate by our side, continue the pleasure of a long, loving cuddle before struggling out of bed. Yea, Life after Eighty is great!

Getting dressed after a shower is so much a habit that is takes hardly any time. Most of my shoes and clothes have been around for several years, sort of like old friends. Some of my dress suits and shoes are more than 30 years old and I can always find something that is close to today’s fashion.

Of course, I need only to wear dress clothes for important occasions like maybe attend a funeral for people who haven’t reached eighty, or a wedding for people who will have many years before reaching eighty.

I am awed by the lack of hair on my head. This might be a plus for me later on because the Good Book says He counts every hair on our head; my few hairs will make it easier for the Holy Accountant to keep his ledgers straight.

Boomers will find they have several years before reaching the magic age of eighty, but many Seniors will be in this elderly safety zone in the next twenty years – both of you really have something great in store. Enjoy Life After Eighty.
