Service Clubs Could Help Over55ers
What if I could show you how your service club can make enough money to perform major services in your community? Hi, my name is Herman Adcox and I put many hours into fund raisers for my former service club. One project I recall involved rose bushes, some of which are still bearing beautiful flowers in my back yard. Call it a “labor of love” or what ever; it still involved handling, delivering, selling, etc. for what amounted to a few dollars. It seemed we never had sufficient funds to do what we wanted, so settled for something less. I realize today how much we could have accompli8shed if we had utilized the power of the internet. I have been struck by a bug; you could call it a PASSION. It just doesn’t want me to rest, and at my age - that can become a problem. There are thousands of over55ers - living below poverty level - coming from a proud and hard working era - way too proud to accept charity. Getting by (existing) - scrimping and saving just like many did - during the 1930's depression. This sector of our society is growing and growing, living longer and longer, and the baby boomers have kicked these numbers up, up, up! Well, that is enough for you to get the picture. Is Big Bro going to help these people? No, not with today’s mindset in Washington D. C. Our political friends over the years have practically destroyed the Social Security system originally set up to help seniors. OK, enough about this bug I have, let us think about ways to bring help to special bugs your service club could fix. The internet has become one of the best methods for making money. There are people making more money in a week then we used to make in 2 years. Imagine what a service club could do with a part of those dollars. No more 100 and 250 dollar scholarships - no more begging for funds to buy toys for children during Christmas - no more “not enough’s” to fund worthwhile projects… What if I could show you how service clubs could make a good portion of this money? For several years I have reviewed program after program, trying to find legitimate ones that I could recommend to help over55ers. Scam after scam, pie in the sky where dreams are sold with no follow up to give the party a chance for success. Under these conditions it is easy to lose faith and give up before success is achieved. Some of the best memories of my service club days are of a group of us getting into computers, around 1986 - Imagine what we could have accomplished in today’s internet world! Today’s more sophisticated internet users in clubs would have a ball setting up these programs and then devoting a few hours a week to keep them updated. Imagine having hundreds or even thousands of dollars each month to fund club projects? You help me with my bug, and I promise that I will do my best to work with you. This small beginning can raise the bar for service clubs, helping make dreams become reality. HERE IS THE BALL, RUN WITH IT!
